Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Help! I need your suggestions! I purchased a new hard drive.
1. Hardware: My new hard drive (1 TB) passed the short DST and long DST tests, but the recovery process failed during recovery DVD 3 of 6.
2. Recovery: I made two attempts to execute the recovery process involving the new hard drive (1 TB). When the laptop was new, I made recovery DVDs. The process involved the making of 6 DVDs. My first and second attempt in the recovery process always fails during DVD 3 of 6.
a. After the first attempt, I established the BIOS to its default settings.
b. The BIOS version is F.01. I never changed the BIOS version.
Please examine the screen images. What should I do?

Hi:

Unfortunately, I can't help you with why the recovery DVD's aren't working, but here is an alternative way to install W10...

To reinstall W10...Use the Media Creation Tool.  Make the 64 bit installation media.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

You can make a W10 USB flash drive installer using an 8 GB flash drive using another Windows PC, since your PC is not working.

Since you upgraded from W8.1 to W10, if you are asked to enter a product key during the installation, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Here are the steps to create the W10 USB flash drive installer...

  1. Select Download tool now, and select Run.
  2. If you agree to the license terms, select Accept.
  3. On the What do you want to do? page, select Create installation media for another PC, and then select Next.
  4. Select the language, edition, and architecture (64-bit or 32-bit) for Windows 10. You want 64 bit.

  5. Select which media you want to use:
  6. USB flash drive.  Plug in a blank USB flash drive with at least 8GB of space. Any content on the flash drive will be deleted.

Then you can install the drivers and available software from the PC's support page.

Thank you for your help and guidance! Your solution to create a Windows 10 installation media worked for me. I will install the respective drivers and utilities.

My situation involved at least two problems.
a. The orginal hard drive reflected a failed long DST test. The new hard drive passed both the short and long DST tests.
b. The recovery process failed twice at DVD 3 of 6. That recovery DVD could be corrupt. Next time, I will create two sets of recovery DVDs.

Many thanks to everyone for their feedback.
