I just purchased a refurbished laptop, and it even has a "certified refurbished" sticker with a warranty number on it, but when I put it in the system it shows that the warranty expired in December 2019. How can I get the refurbished warranty applied to my laptop?

You should be able to challenge the presumed warranty date through the HP Support Assistant app. You should get 90 days from first retail purchase. HP may ask for proof of purchase. The serial number gets a presumed warranty expiration date based on normal sell-through time but if the laptop sits on the seller's shelf for a while the default warranty expiration date can be wrong.

I tried that. It took me back to the HP website, and there was no dispute link available. The "how to" page says that if there's no dispute link, there's no way to dispute the warranty online. How can I dispute it by phone? Or do I need to go through the store where I bought it?

The Store might be able to help. You might also just wait and see if you have a warranty issue in the first 90 days as odds are strong you will not. If you do, post back and we can help you with the warranty at that time. Otherwise you can call HP but I hesitate to give out phone numbers here as there are a lot of scammers out ther and the Forum tends to block attempts to post phone numbers.

Yes, actually. My laptop only charges when the power is off. It doesn't matter if it's open or closed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the battery drivers with no success. I wanted to get some help with it but I can't get through the help bot without a valid warranty. So fixing the warranty seemed like the most logical place to start.
