Dear HP Customer Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to formally report a serious battery-related issue with my HP victus gaming laptop 15-fa1010

(Product Number: 9X5E7PA, Serial Number: Edited).

I purchased this laptop in September 2024. Upon recently generating the official HP battery health report, I observed that the battery condition has degraded abnormally within a very short period of usage. The diagnostic report indicates the battery status as “Primary Battery: Replace.”

According to the battery report:

  • Design Capacity: approximately 52,552 WHr

  • Current Full Charge Capacity: approximately 8,396WHr

  • Battery Health: approximately 16%

Such a significant drop in battery capacity within around one and a half year of purchase is not expected under normal usage conditions. This issue has resulted in very poor battery backup and sudden battery percentage drops, affecting the usability of the system.

I understand that the factory warranty period has now expired. However, considering the laptop’s age and the unusually rapid battery degradation, this appears to be a case of premature battery failure rather than normal wear and tear. I respectfully request HP to review this matter and consider a goodwill battery replacement or an appropriate resolution.

Thank you for your time and support. I look forward to your response.

Hi @ashTH

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand you are experiencing battery issues, and the system is indicating ‘Primary Battery to be replaced.’ Please note that the battery has reported a failure and should be replaced as soon as possible. If your computer is still under warranty, the replacement can be arranged accordingly. I would request you to please share me the Serial number of the Unit to assist you further.
