Remaining Battery Level Keeps Dropping Even When It Is Turned Off

My battery level keeps dropping even though it is shut down. I start with a 100% charge. It drops to 87% over night, then to 83% over the second nighy. By the third night it is down to 80%. I ran the battery check program and it came out OK. Is tis normal or do I need a new battery?

Follow below steps to fix this issue.

Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.

Here is how you do it.

Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”

Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”

Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.

Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”

Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.

Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Thanks Fossette. The battery is still draining but not to the extent it was. In about 2 days, it dropped 3%. I can certainly live with that.
