Microsoft Windows 11

I'm trying to remove the RST (Rapid Storage Technology) from the computer to fit an ssd and install Linux.

I can get to the bios system and start the Linux installation from a usb but I can't get past the "Remove RST" message to install. I can't install an ssd until I remove RST.

I cleaned out the data in the bios that holds the password so now I can't get back in.

Where do I go from here. I don't want to scrap the computer.

You really hosed yourself when you did that bit with the BIOS password.

You can't get rid of the message or install Linux until you go into the BIOS and change the disk pode to AHCI from SATA with RAID.

You will have to take your laptop to a shop that is capable of replacing the BIOS chip with a new one programmed with a clean BIOS.

That will be an economical way of fixing what you inadvertently broke.

In the UK, I would suggest Adamant IT Computer Repairs in Shaftesbury
