hi Pepe999
thanks for your prompt reply,
its highly likely its just dirty as i have been in a very dusty environment
but it had told me it was faulty
and i moved to a second computer to avoid overheating and expiration etc
i will look at your suggestion before i confirm as a solution
thanks a lot
UPDATE: THIS IS THE FURTHEST I HAVE GOT AND THE CLOSEST TO A SOLUTION
i am still unable to match my computer laptop to the 200 product they say use this fan out of all of them mine is not there but i will mark it up as a solution as it was swiftly attended to as well thanks!
i tred to give kudos after confirming as a solution but it seems cannot now give thumbs up, so sorry but many thanks though!

Hi,
Don't post your computer serial number on this forum. A simple model such as Envy 17-j053ea is enough.:)
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03922401
It starts on page 85. There is also the part number for the fan.
May I ask why you want to replace the fan? If the system tells you to do it it doesn't really mean you have to. There have been issues with buggy BIOSes that claimed a faulty fan issue when there was nothing wrong with it.
HP Touchpad provided by HP
HP Microserver Gen8 10TB Debian Server
