Hi,
How do I go about removing the M2 SSD that the laptop came with so I can then retrieve the data on another machine?
The laptop won't power on, and I don't intend to fix it as it is no longer worth it, I just want to retrieve my data.
Thanks
Beth

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook where you can find the M.2 SSD removal and replacement procedure.

You're very welcome.
It is definitely not on that side of the motherboard.
The service manual tells you to remove the top cover to get to the SSD, so it must be 'underneath' the keyboard.
See chapter 5, starting on page 45 for how to get to the M.2 SSD. Part of the procedure is to remove the battery as well.

Thanks.
Apologies if this is obvious and I'm misunderstanding, but that picture is taken from in between the keyboard and motherboard.
Are you saying it may be underneath the motherboard?
The diagram in the manual indicates it should be in between the motherboard and the keyboard. Its number 7.
Please let me know if I'm missing something! Thank you

Hi:
You're right. You do have the top cover off.
The drive must be on the other side of the blue motherboard in your screenshot.
I recommend that you read the procedure for how to remove the motherboard, which starts on page 54, in chapter 5.
It is definitely not visible in your screenshot.
The drive will look like this...I don't see anything that looks like that.
