Envy 17m-ae111dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Keyboard needs to be replaced due to paint wearing out and keys sticking. I understand the entire back has to come off and the components basically removed. But is the keyboard itself then replaceable or do I have to replace the entire top part with the keyboard.

So, does anyone from HP who monitors this have a link to the PDF service manual and possibly the link to the part(s) that may be required.

Thanks.....

No, HP does not supply part for keyboard alone, you have to buy the whole top which is part # 925477-001. Please keep or bookmark the following link for future references

There is a place online that sells a keyboard for this model; it is not HP, but they say it is an HP part. So is it still possible? Is there a service manual for this envy computer?

I guess if I have to gut the entire innards of the laptop to transfer over to a new part, I might be able to just replace the keyboard.

Thanks for the help.
