HP Notebook - 15-ba015ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My device is a HP notebook 15-ba015ng with hard drive configuration M.2 SATA-3 256GB.

Is it possible to upgrade to a 2.5 inch SSD 1TB?

Do I need an extra adapter or bracket to replace the drive?

Thank you for your support.

It does not make any sense to "Replace M.2 SATA-3 SSD with 2.5 inch drive". You can use 1TB or 2TB M.2 SATA SSD if you wish to have more space.

For example:              https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/sata-ssd/ssd-860-evo-sata-3-m-2-2tb-mz-n6e2t0bw/

No, you extra adapter or bracket to replace the drive.

Regards.

Thank you for the information.

But for me it makes sense to use a 2.5 inch drive if I already have one and do not want to buy a new M.2 SATA SSD.

Finding hardware (cable and may be adapter/board) to add 2.5" HDD to your machine could be a challenge . If you wish please find the following parts and install to your machine first, they are N/A from HP

  • Hard drive connector board part # 817878-001
  • Hard drive cable for use in HP Notebook PC models Part # 855003-001
