Pavilion DV6T-6c00
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Dear sir.

I am looking to upgrade the memory on my laptop.

Original memory are 2 x Hynix 4GB 2RX8 pc3 - 12800 -11-11-F3

HMT351S6CFR8C-PB N0 AA 1148
DIMM-CT: RCHLR8KTG2BIHD 637233-352 SPS:621569-001

I have seen the HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service Guide

and it does not specify the memory voltage but it says it should be a slower 1333Mhz and up to 16Gb (2 x 8Gb)

Questions:

Can I continue with the 1600Mhz with 2 x 8Gb 1.35V?

Or should I go down to 1333Mhz and up to 1.5V?

Thank you.

All 1.35 volt DDR3L can also run at 1.5 volts so you COULD install a pair of DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM but they would downclock to 1333 and up-volt (a word I just made up) to 1.5.

Above is the part number for the specified memory module 8 gigs. This is 1.5 volt DDR3-1333. You will see many sellers offering DDR3L-1600 as a replacement for this part because a lot more DDR3L-1600 is out there in the pipeline and you can also likely get it cheaper than 1.5 volt 1333 mhz stuff. You can also use 1.5 volt DDR3-1600 if you can find that. And yes it can use 2 x 8 = 16 gigs total.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
