HP Envy 17
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have the HP Envy 17 j185nr.  I need to replace the power adapter as I lost it. What are the power requirements?  2 power output for the adapter are listed : 65 w and 90w.  How do I know which one to choose?

Hi:

Below is the parts list for your notebook.

HP PartSurfer

The first item listed is the power supply that came with your notebook with the HP part number.

The power cord that goes from the wall socket to the charger is sold separately.

What I recommend you do is to search eBay by the HP part number of the charger and buy a used but tested and working genuine HP charger.  Used ones will normally come with the power cord.
