Thank You for your reply

I ordered two flash drives. To use the Macron software to make a System Image does the Reflect 7 Free prompt also walk me through the process?

Yes, the Macrium software is very easy to use.

Don't forget that the Macrium software requires two storage devices...one to store the system image on such as a portable hard drive, and then you need a DVD or USB flash drive to create the bootable rescue media you boot from to access the system image you created and stored elsewhere.

Here is a good video for how to use the software.  It will take you a whole lot less time to create the image than to watch the video. 😊

Hello Paul

If I don't use the Macro software and the clean install of W 11 fails will I have the option to go back to a clean install of W 10 without my apps and files, that I would need to reinstall?

Hi:

Yes, you could use the W10 media creation tool and use that to reinstall W10, and then reinstall any programs and files you need.

Sorry I just need to reiterate,

I would need to use W 10 media creation tool to make a clean copy of W 10 on a flash drive and than try to install W 11.

If W 11 fails I can reinstall W 10 using the flash drive. Am I correct?

Hi:

You need to clean install W11 with the W11 media creation tool.

If W11 doesn't work as well on your PC as W10 did, then you either restore the system image you make with Macrium Reflect, or you use the W10 media creation tool to clean install W10 back onto your notebook.

You do not need to clean install W10 and then clean install W11.

Hello

After the clean install of W11 will my notebook receive updates even as an unsupported device?

Both of mine just did yesterday.

That was what I was waiting for, because I had heard reports that you may not get the monthly security updates.

So far, so good.

Hello Paul

My Pavillion g6 notebook was originally loaded with W 7, now running W 10 newest version.

When I look in System Information the Bios Mode is Legacy , version date 12/25/2012

W 11, as I understand needs UEFI Mode which doesn't appear to have been installed at origin.

Will this prevent a clean install of W 11?

Hi:

No, you can install W11 in legacy mode too.

If you want to install W11 in UEFI mode, if your notebook supports booting UEFI, boot your W11 installation flash drive from the EFI USB boot source.

If you do not see a EFI boot source, then you can only install in Legacy mode.
