Product: ENVY 15Z-J000
Operating System: Linux

Laptop made in 2013, wish to know if I can replace the hard drive with a solid state drive.  Some websites advertise SSD notebook drives "guaranteed to be compatible" with this laptop, but these specify a SATA connection.  Can this be possible?  When were SATA connections introduced in laptops?  

Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Hi:

 

Your notebook has a SATA connection.

 

They quit using IDE notebook hard drives around 2006.
