if the customer is purchasing i7 laptop then they expect that the laptop will perform on high speed but due to normal hard disk, it works slow start and load OS on very slow speed, provide SSD of 120gb which provide extremely rich speed to OS provide SSD with the laptop instead of an optical drive. nowadays optical drive is of no use and it is hp responsibility to satisfy its consumers.
cost of the SSD and its bay is equivalent to the optical drive. hardly 1k of difference must be faced by your costumers but definitely help you to increase your graphs in marketing.

Hi
Apple dropped optical drives some years ago, it is a limited format, but I still rely on my DVD device.
Smaller devices no longer have them in the HP range, and, like Apple, go with USB et al.
So I suggest you do not boot from a DVD, use the HDD (magnetic platters, even if they are made of glass).
Caveat Emptor, Buyer Beware, speed of use is difficult to assess, so things that can improve it are usually welcome.
Not having loads of apps loaded at startup, sufficient RAM to avoid unnecessary paging out. Background proggies kept to a minimum.
A DVD is about a £10, a 1TB HDD £35 and a 500GB SSD Drive is about £125 so there is a significant cost difference.
So when you did your research HP came out the best for Value and Performance?

why we can't use this https://www.amazon.in/Optical-Drive-Caddy-Universal-9-5mm/dp/B00HD7QQQA/ref=pd_sbs_147_3?_encoding=U...
something geniuen product of hp to install SSD if it provider greater speed to start window and also recommended by microsoft to install windows on SSD.
I m not talking to boot the window from the optical drive or from DVDs, its only a general suggestion to HP that they even can provide something geniuen and fast products to the customer.
Currently using au009tx contains i7 processor and on HDD boot time is 3-4 min and on installing SSD boot time = 30-40 sec.
DVD-RW (CD-DVD DRIVE SLOT) and SSD(120gb)+material to fix on board has hardly ₹1k money difference and speed is much higher.

Hi
That is not an OPTICAL drive. An OPTICAL drive is usually a CD/DVD, even Blue-Ray.
That is a CADDY to replace the DVD drive and then fit an SSD or similar.
If you want to remove the HDD and replace it with an SSD then that is your choice.
You can try the caddy you linked to also, as an optional extra drive.
It is "SATA Optical Bay 2nd Hard Drive Caddy, Universal for 9.5mm CD / DVD Drive Slot (for SSD and HDD)"
So you remove the DVD, fit the caddy and then buy and fit an SSD.
The total cost would be £155 or 15500 rupees I guess.

we can even use both SSD and HDD as
DVD reader runs on the SATA port and SSD and SSD caddy also works on the same SATA port.
so there is no speed issue and I suggest HP to use SSD to enhance the speed of Systems in which HP providing original Window10.
and Matter of price.
total COST = SSD+CADDY = max ₹4k or in Euro. - 50
this SSD provision is extra ADDon to enhance the speed by removing DVD reader/writer
