Replace/upgrade system board Chromebook X2

Hi all,

I have a chromebook x2-12. Dropped and broke it. It won;t start up again and gives me the errormessage 0x2b; TPM state : communications error. I reckon I broke the system board/security chip.

I love this machine and have gone through all the tips and tricks to resolve with no success.

I was thinking to replace the motherboard and in the process upgrade to a version with an i5 processor and 8GB/64GB of memory and storage.

Question:  Are the different system boards for this machine interchangeable/compatible?

It would be much easier and likely cheaper to try to find a used version of the Chromebook you want. But yes, the various motherboards offered on your model series are interchangeable.
