Hello! Im using a HP 15-FC0031NQ  laptop, and ever since i got it i had problems with my Wi-Fi. I tried looking for the latest drivers, troubleshooted everything, yet it still keeps disconnecting and runs slow. The Wi-Fi driver that i have is Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter. I saw a lot of people complaining about it, and I've been considering changing my Wi-Fi Card to an Intel AX200 or similar.

The actual question is: Is the Wi-Fi card replaceable? Does my laptop support other cards?

It's been a day since i installed the older driver and it's way more stable. The driver version is 6001.15.152.0. It is in Previous Version package 1.0.0.248 Rev.S for anyone wondering. Today my computer updated and when i booted it back up my internet connection was poor again, i checked to see if my driver updated too, it did, i rolled it back and it's stable again. So if anyone's got problems with this wifi driver, just get the older version from the HP website.

Hi:

Since the notebook only has one antenna wire (that is all the Realtek Wi-Fi card your notebook comes with uses), upgrading to a better card would be difficult because you would have to order the dual antenna kit from your notebook's service manual to install the required second antenna wire.

Also, since your notebook has an AMD processor and chipset, successfully getting an Intel card to work would be hit or miss.

The first thing I would try would be to update the Realtek RTL8852BE Wi-Fi adapter to the latest version HP currently has.

RTL8852BE, version 6001.15.158.601

sp161604.exe

If that doesn't help, you can try the Intel AX200 card without adding a second antenna wire and if it works, you can decide if you want to install the 2nd antenna wire because you will not have Bluetooth.

This is the HP part number/SPS number that HP has installed in some later model AMD notebooks:

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP Part # L35282-005
