HP laptop 15-ay009dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP laptop- 15-ay009dx. The battery is starting to lose capacity and I would like to possibly replace it. I tried to check the maintenance and service manual to check the battery type, but it was kind of confusing. It states two different batteries. The 3-cell 31Whr,  which is now in my computer, and a 4-cell 41Whr. I know they are also of different voltages and was wondering if I can put the 4 cell in without hurting the laptop and if I can, is it an advantage to do so?  Thank you for any help you can give.

@Archangel1

The specs of your machine is

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05301836

It uses  3-cell, 31 Wh Li-ion part #  807956-001 which is available from

        http://partsurfer.hp.com/Search.aspx?searchText=807956-001

Or use part # to buy elsewhere such as Amazon, BestBuy.  I need to know part # for the 4-cell battery before I can answer your question: you can use 4-cel battery or not.

Regards.

Was wondering if you have had a chance to check into whether or not the 4-cell would work. I posted the model number.
