Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC dv6-7009tx B0P20PA#AB4
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Number is B0P20PA#AB4

The replacement is I believe one of

For use only on computer models equipped with an Intel processor and a graphics subsystem with discrete memory

682061-001

For use only on computer models equipped with an Intel processor and a graphics subsystem with UMA memory

682060-001

Your advice as to which fan is the right one would be appreciated

The Graphics memory on the Intel (r) HD Graphics 4000 is 1792 Mb

The other Graphics onboard is the Nvidea Geforce GT 650 M

As the laptop runs warm (hot) any options to increase cooling such as a larger fan etc would be appreciated.

Hi,

As @Paul_Tikkanen stated you need the 682061-001 which is actually not only the fan, but the whole heatsink assembly.

The fan is actually the same for all models (the heatsink is different) as you can see on page 80 of service manual. If you use the part number and write fan you can find the fan by itself.

Example:

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=682061-001

For heat issues it is important to remove all old thermal material, especially between the CPU/GPU and heatsink. You can use lintfree cloth and alcohool and if necessary a soft plastic tool toi scrape off this paste. Replace with quality thermal paste such as Arctic MX4 or similar. (page 80 service manual).

Hope it helps,

David

Hi:

You need the one listed  For use only on computer models equipped with an Intel processor and a graphics subsystem with discrete memory

682061-001

The other one is for models that just have the onboard Intel graphics.

There are no optional larger fans.  Perhaps the fan/heatsink have built up an accumulation of dust.

Thank you both for your answers. Much appreciated, The extra detail in David's message meant that he got an upvote as well.

I live in an old Victorian house and everything is dusty. The fan has been cleaned several times to only short term avail. A replacement will make the laptop last another year I hope.

Cheers
