My Hard drive needs to be replaced but i'm not sure what kind of harddrive i should purchase e.g dimension, type, etc. Can someone offer some advice on this?
Preferably one that is quiet and durable.

The following link shows specs of your computer with a slow 500 GB 5400 rpm SATA HDD:
https://support.hp.com/ee-en/document/c04936074
Any standard 2.5" HDD for laptops will fit and work but please buy from popular brands such as WD, Toshiba, Seagate, HDS. You can buy from nay good computer store.
Since SSD's are a lot cheaper now, my suggestion is to try 1TB SSD from
http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/hp-15-f272wm
After that please do a fresh install Windows 10 from the following link
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/software-download/windows10
Windows 10 will activate itself using a key which is embedded in BIOS of your computer when you come online. And after running fews Windows updates, your machine would be better because now it has much faster storage (SSD).
Regards.
