Pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I recently bought a laptop battery from Amazon. It says on the battery Type V104/HSTNN-DB6J/HSTNN-LB6K (there are other model numbers too) there is also a sticker with a bar code showing this text below, QBEK00576KP.
The laptop I am using is a HP Pavilion 15 notebook.
The issue I have, is I connect the battery to my laptop and turn it on without the power cord plugged in. But all I get is a black screen with the power button and caps lock lights showing continuously, the same thing happens when I try to boot with the power cord plugged in.
I have followed all advice I can find on Google, like doing a hard reset and the laptop does boot up immediately after, but when I try again after a few minuets, back to the original problem, the laptop won't boot.
The only way I can get the laptop to boot consistently is by removing the battery and just using the power cord. So defeating the object of getting a new battery in the first place.
So I wonder if you have encountered this problem before, and can help me with a solution?

You may have purchased an incompatible or non-working battery.

Did you purchase a battery that is guaranteed to be compatible that also has a one year warranty?

You have not identified your notebook with the complete product name or product number. That always helps.

Think of it like this. You go to an auto parts store and yo tell the clerk you need a battery for your car. he asks you what kind of car you have and you say "I have a Chevrolet". He gives you a blank stare and asks you for more information.

Look at the bottom of the notebook in the tiny lettering fr the ProdID.

Post it here in your next response.

I suggest that you contact the seller and Amazon and tell them you have received a DOA battery. Get your money back.

There are inexpensive replacement batteries for your notebook. See the link below.
