Need help getting product number to order replacement battery. Search has been useless.

I've bought replacement batteries for my HP DV6 laptop, and using the HP part number on the existing battery, I had no problem finding several online laptop parts suppliers that had the battery available.

 

If you run HP Support Assistant, it will provide the option to see the components in your laptop, and the detailed product number will be listed.

 

Once you have the laptop product number , you can use this link to get the battery part number: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-dv6-6c00-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/5191856/mo...

 

If there is a replacement number, as in a newer version of the battery, that parts page for your PC will list it.

The HP part store shows the following battery info for your DV6-6c00 laptop but it looks like the battery is on back order...

 

593553-001
Replaced: 593554-001
Battery (Primary) - 6-cell lithium-Ion (Li-Ion), 2.2Ah, 47Wh (MU06047)

 

I also ran that part number on another site that I frequently use to get replacement batteries for various laptops in my office.  They use some newer / advanced cells from Panasonic .. IE about a 3 year service life with more more power for longer run times.    

 

Here is the link to 2 compatible batteries for your DV6 laptop ... the 6 cell is likely what you want  ... they also have an extended 9 cell battery if you need extra power to run longer.
