Hi,

My HDD crashed and I need to replace it. Can I replace it with SSD and what will I need to do to be able to accomplish that?

Can I replace it with SSHD and is that recommended?

Which HDD will work for my laptop and where should I buy from? any 2.5 Inch will do?

Also the battery got fried and am looking for a replacement if you can kindly direct me to a proper source to purchase that as well

Thank you..

Omen 17t-w100 is a CTO machine, we do not have its REAL specs but you can replace existing 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" HDD, SSHD or SSD.

  1. Normally with the same RPM, SSHD drives are a bit faster than HDD's because they have larger cache but SSD drives are cheaper and cheaper now therefore many users now prefer to use SSD drives to get much better performance. I think SSD drive is the way to go
  2. Given above recommendation, you can replace 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SSD using

                  https://www.crucial.com/products/ssd/crucial-mx500-ssd

                  https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/product/consumer/860evo/

           Or similar from reputable vendors.
One example (compatible drive, can use smaller/larger capacity)
