Trying to get help from HP must be most frustrating experience in my life! First it gives me a run around across the website with outdated information and a circle jerk of links going to each other! There is no option to contact HP, only if I pay for phone support, no thanks you ain't getting any more of my money. This was most likely the last product I purchased from HP. After I finally find a link that pertains to my issue, it opens a case for me, saying someone will contact me. Yeah right. After 4 days of waiting I get 2 emails. One says the case was closed, another has no information at all just some generic text with link and a cherry on the top - a signature saying "Sincerely, Agent Name HP appreciates your business". Aha, I can tell how much they appreciate me. The email was so generic, the service rep did not even bother to write his name and just used the template complete with "Agent Name".

Anyway, the rant aside. I got my laptop's battery swollen so hard it bend the case. I need replacement battery. Going to HP's parts section does not list it. I read online you have to contact HP to actually get the battery but well you can read up top what happened to that. Here are battery part numbers I found on the battery itself: YB06XL;

928427-271; 928372-855; I tried going to HP authorized reseller list and wow, that list must not have been updated in 20 years. It quite frankly embarrassing. Long story short, no success there either. I would just buy from amazon some third party battery, but I found out if I do that I will be getting an error message on every startup of my laptop telling me my battery ain't genuine... Well thanks HP! Either sell me the **bleep** battery already or let me used third party without punishing me for it!

Thanks for reading this far. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated. I either need a replacement battery sold to me, or given an option to get rid of the warning message on laptop startup.

Hi:

I searched eBay by the part number you posted, sorted price and shipping lowest first and looked at the cheapest battery that shows the HP logo on it that indicates it is genuine.

Hey,

Thanks for taking your time to do that, but I am afraid that is not a solution. I did that search myself. Found the part, looking exactly as mine. Seller had a lot of positive reviews as well. But when I did digging into some bad and neutral reviews it did show that although product was listed as genuine it still gave that fake battery warning on every startup. I would like to buy the battery from an official source. HP or its authenticated reseller. Contacting HP has been impossible for a week now, as ridiculous as that is. And their authenticated reseller list has not been updated for a decade. I am not sure what I am hoping here to be frank. Maybe that HP will notice, remember that customer service is a thing, and will finally put me in contact with a proper seller.
