Pavilion 17-cd1023nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just bought a brand new Pavilion 17-cd1023nr and just about the first thing I did was to try and pop off the bottom panel to see about adding storage as I believe there's an additional slot for an SSD.  However, one of the screws is stripped.  I'm sure I was using the right size, but I think they're cheap screws.  I triple checked the size of the Phillips head I was using before I started unscrewing them.  3 came out with no issue.  1 is now stuck in there, so I'm still working on getting that out, but I don't know how to identify the metric size of the screw.  It appears to be 14mm in length (including the head of the screw) but I don't know the metric diameter.  I went on HP Part Surfer and it looks like it's spare part # L57164-001, but you can't order it and there's zero information that I can see.

**Update:  I don't seem to be able to delete my post, so I'll just post an update... I found the screw size in a different PDF.  Was originally looking at the user manual and found it under maintenance.  It's an M2 x 13.  Mystery solved.

I could not find it anywhere including eBay.

Well, probably you have to wait.

Regards.
