I am still quite happy with my laptop, using it as my primary computer interface for quite a few other computers. I am starting to have issues with storage capacity though. This was a certified refurbished unit when I purchased it, but I've made a few other updates. It originally had a 500 GB NVMe SSD but I've got about 48 GB remaining. Drives have increased in size drastically since this was originally made and hoping to go with a newer and larger NVMe SSD.

What I want to know is if there are any constraints on what NVMe SSD I am able to replace the original with? I haven't opened the case to evaluate the length of the SSD, but could I put in a 2TB M.2 2280 without a heatsink?
