Pavilion x360 convertable
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This concerns the size of my SDD vs Windows10 bloatware and trying to replace the SDD with a larger model

Laptop: HP Pavilion x360 Convertable

Model: 15-br077nr

ProdID: 1KT69UA#ABA

Hard Drive:  SanDisk SD9SN8W-256G-1006

My year old convertable now has Windows 10 taking approximately 210 gig on my hard drive. I have not really installd many programs but the size of Windows means I am in the 20 gig free space available.   I live chatted with HP support (India) to get the right manual that has the drawings to replace this SDD with a larger model. The manual they gave me is found at this link:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05473330

The trouble is that the hard drive shown in the drawings is the wrong form factor, so I don't believe it is the correct manual. The Scandisk is an m.2 interface and has a high aspect ratio of length to width. The drawings in this manual are a typical hdd form factor which is a lower aspect ratio. This manual also says the largest SDD I can put in is only 512 Gig. I can not go to a tb and keep the SDD (it says I can in an hdd).

I am not confident that support has given me the right manual and therefore the correct max SDD size. My son did find a youtube video of what appears to be the right machine and the SDD is in a totally different location than this manual (it is under the motherboard. You have to remove the motherboard to replace the SDD.

I have to correct, Windows 10 is the major user but not 200+ gig. But I still need to upgrade the drive.

The following link shows its specs

It ONLY has one physical drive therefore EVERYTHING you put to it over one year MUST reside on it, NOT Windows 10. Windows 10 only takes under 20GB.

>>> The trouble is that the hard drive shown in the drawings is the wrong form factor,

Your machine supports BOTH M.2 SATA and NVMe SSD's therefore the  diagram may show different thing but BOTH have 22mm width and up to 80mm in length (you can find 110mm but won't fit your machine).

You can ADD 2.5" HDD or SSD to your machine (up to 2TB) or REPLACE exsiting 256GB with a larger capacity (up to 1TB). Now up to your choice.

(a) ADD: You simply install up to 2TB of 2.5" SSD or HDD to the HDD bay and use it as the secondary storerage for your files/data. Page 32 od the manual shows you how.

(b) REPLACE: You can replace M.2 SSD with a larger capacity using the following compatible products

When I look at this youtube video:

The drive is under the motherboard, yet the manuals that go with my model have the drive above the motherboard which would be an easier disassemble / reassemble. This is what is confusing me.
