HP 15-ay000 Notebook PC series (Touch)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 15-ay014dx model notebook. My touch screen just broke and now I need to replace it.  I'd like to go to full HD if possible.  I think the manual (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05087748) is telling me that I can replace my current touch screen with a non touch FHD.

Current Part #

809612-010 - lcd panel

813944-001 - cable

New non-touch FHD Part # - Will this work?

798933-007 - lcd panel
813943-001 - cable

Can anyone tell me if I'm reading this right and this is possible?  I noticed that the system boards have different model #'s based on touch or non-touch and I just want to make sure this will work before buying.

Thanks!

Hey there! @Brad26, Thanks for stopping by the HP Support Forums!

I understand you would like to replace the touchscreen on your PC to a non-touch full HD screen.

Don't worry I'll try to help you out.

Did you make any hardware or software changes on your PC?

Is the touchscreen working in BIOS?

As you mentioned you would like to replace the touchscreen on your PC to a non-touch full HD screen.

I appriciate your efforts doing a bit of research before reaching out to us.

I have checked the records you can go ahead and replace your display with FHD, non-touch (BrightView) part number-842463-006.

Or  FHD, non-touch screen (anti-glare) part number- 798933-007

Refer the product user guide for more information.

Note: Refer page 38 for more information.

You can purchase the part from HP parts store using this link.
