Hi,

 

I'm having issues with my dvd drive and was thinking of having it replaced. When I disassembled my dvd drive, it has a code of UJ8D1. BUT it doesn't say the size. I'm confused on what to get for replacement as I know there are different sizes to it as well i.e. 9.7mm, 12.5mm. What is the size of UJ8D? Please advise.

Hi,

What you need is a 12.7mm notebook DVD drive or bluray drive.

Example

On page 59 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive:
