I am replacing a broken display on my laptop. I would like to upgrade while I am at it.

Can I replace display part 809612-014 with 847651-003?

Your model came with HD touchscreen panel.

If you're upgrading to FHD touchscreen panel mentioned above, you've to buy additional parts such as display panel cable, webcam/microphone module and display bezel as listed in manual for compatibility with the panel.

I am a little confused, I have no use for web cams. Is it nessesary to upgrade this also? The cable.... is there differences in 40 pin cables? I suppose if the connector is in a different location.....

HD and FHD cables are different, according to panel you've to get appropriate cable.

Search the exact HP part number in Google or through online sellers.

No need to replace webcam if you're not going to use it. Webcam and microphone is spared as a single module part.

For FHD panels, it is an infrared webcam/microphone module that is listed.

Just to follow up. My upgrade went well, the new IPX display is so much better than the original. Thanks so much for your great advice concerening my upgrade! I am wondering now if I can download a .icm file that represents the new display ? I do a fair amount of photo editing......
