I have an HP 15-g212dx that is working fine. I use it by windows and my screen is too reflective to see it well. I purchased one screen cover (cheap-$12.00) that did not work. I was thinking of buying a matte replacement screen and installing it. Does anyone have any other less expensive options or recommendations? I am a disabled vet and living in the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans and here they take my entire disablity check and only give me back $100.00 a month and it does not go far!!! Please help, I will be very thankful for any ideas. Have a Blessed Day! Ken.

Ken:

Thanks for your Service. Here is your screen part number:

For use in HP 15 and Compaq 15 models without a touch screen 750635-001

This auction shows what your screen looks like. It is a 40-pin lower right center connection.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/750635-001-N156BGE-L41-REV-C1-HP-DISPLAY-15-6-LED-SLIM-15-G-15-G070NR-GRD-B-...

This is a "B" grade used panel and is glossy so you do not want it. We need to find you a matte screen of the same size and with the same connector ports.

These guys ship a glossy or matte, you may want to contact them and see if you can get a matte from them:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Inspiron-15-3000-series-15-6-HD-NEW-40-PIN-LED-LCD-Screen-Non-Touch-/18...

This is also your screen for $28 shipped. I do not think you can beat this price.

This may not be the exact model you have but the replacement procedure is similar:

You may also need to refer to the Manual:

I don't usually do private support but feel free to PM me if you need any more help and we can Skype or something and I can walk you through this upgrade. Happy to help.

Thank you sooo much for the information!! It was more than I hoped for. And as for the "thank you for your service" you are very welcome, and to tell you the truth...I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could!!! I actually went in the service to work with computers and still do wderork on them, but I was honorably (under medical conditions) discharged in 1979. Computers have definately changed since then!!! I should not have any trouble changing the screen out, but thanks for the offer of help as well. Have a Blessed Day, Ken.
