HP Recommended

Simply put, I bought a backlight keyboard before knowing if the notebook supported it. It doesn't. Was wondering if it's possible to just replace the motherboard in the machine with one that does accommodate the keyboard.

I would suggest replacing the motherboard for backlight keyboard is not a good option, the motherboard will cost more sometimes equal to new computer. 

 

NOTE: HP does not recommend upgrading or downgrading hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product as It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance, however, you could change the configuration at your own discretion.
