Pavilion g4 1303 AU
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello guys I want to know that if my laptop pavilion  g4 1303 AU has upgradable CPU .

Specifications :-

 1.) AMD A4 3330mx 2.2 GHz (35W power consumption)

 2.) Ram -6 GB

3.) Disk 500 GB running at 5400 rpm

 4.)display 1366 * 768

So my question is can I replace it with intel core i5 2nd gen 2520M/ 2450M both consuming 35 W

I had my laptop checked and the CPU is not soldered to the motherboard .  I checked my laptops manual and ground that it supports the CPU but I am making sure before buying the processor 🙂

Thanks in advance 🙂

Which manual you are talking about ?  I know G4 series has two options: Intel CPU or AMD CPU. You can replace AMD CPU with another AMD CPU or you can replace Intel CPU with an Intel CPU but THEY WON'T MIX.

I believe you read the following manual

   http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03717822.pdf

On pages 1, 2 and 3 you can see TWO columns (AMD and Intel) and on pages 83 & 84 you can see 2 sections (AMD and Intel). You have to pick AMD CPU' s on page 83 and ignore Intel CPU's because motherboard on your machine won't fit physically.

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Thank you very much 🙂

So after hearing that it cannot be upgraded to intel can it support a dedicated GPU e.g gt 630m 2 GB .
Because the integrated GPU is not so good and I can't even play some low end games .

Hi,

Where did you get that idea ? Your machine has no where to put a GPU in, big or small.
