Hi, I'm new in this forum... I try to de-install the factory HDD and replace it with a Samsung SSD MZMLN1T0HMJP. It's a 1 TB SSD which was working perfectly fine in my old Dell Latitude Notebook. Since the SSD is not fitting into the M2 slot I installed it in a 2,5" frame and plugged it into the SATA port of the old HDD.
But unfortunately there is no chance that the SSD will be detected. The disk system diagnostic tells me that no disk is recognized.
Is there any way to install my existing 1TB SSD in this Notebook?
Put the SSD back into the old Notebook and it's working fine. Put back the old HDD into the Elitebook - Working fine.
Any help on that?

The Samsung 1 TB is an older form factor mSATA, it is not M.2 which is why it would not fit in the M.2 slot. I would focus in on the adapter you used. Theoretically an mSATA mSSD in a 2.5 inch adapter box should work when plugged into the 2.5 inch SATA bay is why I want to see what kind you are using.

Thanks for the fast answer. I'll focus on using the 2.5 inch SATA bay. I think I'm using a 2.5 inch mSATA mSSD adapter box but not sure if there are any differences. Attached you can find some pictures of SSD and Box.SSD

That looks like the kind of device I would try to use. This is it:
Odd that it would be advertised as compatible with a specific Dell computer. I can't imagine what would be unique about it, however.

You might want to flag as the solution in case others have the same problem makes it easier to find from a search engine. Apparently it was a correct assumption that the problem must be with the adapter being used in something other than a specific Dell model.
