Envy X360 15-bp152wm laptop
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

At boot, an error message indicates that Drive 1 is failing.  The drive configuration is  A) Optane Memory 16 GB SSD, and B) Seagate BaraCuda Pro 1Tb HDD.   System info = model Intel Optane+932GBHDD.  If the SSD  requires replacement, should I consider an Optane Memory 32 Gb SSD or larger?  Secondly, would someone be so kind to point me to the step by step instructions to reinstall the OS.  I have downloaded the recovery ISO to a USB flash drive.

Its specs

which says nothing about Optane. Buy you can forget Optane and install M.2 NVMe SSD to 500GB, 1TB or 2TB and use it as Boot drive, that is much better.

You have to disable Optane before remove it and install M.2 SSD drive.

Thank you for your prompt response to my questions.  I was really confused by the Optane memory, which you resolved.  Best wishes!
