Hi, my laptop is fitted with a 1 TB HDD and an Intel Optane Memory (which is disabled). I want to replace the Intel Optane Memory with a 1 TB SSD. I was wondering if it is possible to do that, meaning use the 1 TB SSD as a primary drive, and the HDD as the backup. Also, what steps will I need to take other than migrating the HDD data to the SSD? Thank you.
P.S. I am not a very tech-savvy person so please excuse any incorrect use of technical terms or similar mistakes.

Hi:
Yes it should be possible, but before you remove the Intel optane memory and install the NVMe M.2 SSD, you need to disable the Intel Optane memory in the Intel RST software and also in the BIOS.

You will also need to remove Windows from the 1 TB mechanical hard drive, or the Windows boot manager will always want to boot to the SATA 2.5" drive first.
