Hi @iNboks
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
The HP Pavilion 15-eh1104ua laptop utilizes DDR4 SODIMM memory modules, and it supports upgrades. Based on the specifications you've provided, the Kingston SODIMM DDR4 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz FURY Impact Black is suitable for your laptop.
Here are the steps and considerations:
Compatibility Check
- Type and Size: Ensure the RAM is DDR4 SODIMM and that the total capacity (16GB) is supported by your laptop.
- Speed: Your laptop should support the 3200MHz speed. If the motherboard does not support this speed, the RAM will still function but at a lower speed supported by the laptop.
- Voltage: Ensure it matches the required voltage specifications of your laptop’s current RAM.
Installation Instructions
- Power Off the Laptop: Completely shut down the laptop and remove the charger.
- Remove the Battery: If your model allows, remove the battery to avoid any electrical mishaps.
- Open the Back Panel: Use a screwdriver to remove screws from the back panel. Keep track of each screw.
- Locate the RAM Module: Locate the existing RAM modules, usually under a protective shield or casing.
- Remove Existing RAM: Gently push the retaining clips on either side of the module outward. The RAM module should pop up at an angle.
- Insert New RAM: Align the notch on the Kingston RAM module with the slot and insert it at a 45-degree angle. Push it down until it clicks into place.
- Reassemble the Laptop: Replace the back panel and screws. Reinsert the battery if removed.
Post Installation
- Boot the Laptop: Boot up the laptop and check the BIOS to ensure the new RAM is recognized.
- System Check: Use system information tools (e.g., Task Manager or CPU-Z) to verify the new RAM details.
