I tell people all the time that replacing/upgrading storage or memory or wireless does not void warranty but I will have to say that it would be unreasonable to expect contiuned warranty coverage if you remove the heatsink and fan and reapply thermal paste. Frankly you should not need to do that within the warranty period usually more like 2-3 years out.

Heatsinks are usually made of copper alloy or aluminum with perhaps a pure copper insert right over the processor core. This is one of the heatsinks:

Looks in this case like some copper, some copper alloy and then aluminum radiator fins:

Post back with any more questions but please accept as solution if this is the information you needed.

I really appreciate you taking the time to answer, however I was not able to understand your answer fully. You meant that replacing thermal paste deosnt void warranty but it is still a risk since I could damage something?
Would it be possible for you to confirm what kind of material this laptop's heatsinks are? It's because I'd like to apply a liquid metal paste that can't be applied on alluminum.
Thanks

Assume that if you break the factory seal between the processor and the heatsink your warrany is gone. The surfaces of the heatsink where you would put the thermal compound are copper, not aluminum.

I understand. And the factory seal is right between the processor and the heatsink? so the heatsink cant be removed at all?

Could you tell me also, ive noted that the heatsink is black. However normally they are orange or grey. Does it have some coating or cover?

thanks
