Dear HP Support Team

I own an HP Envy 17t-u100 laptop with the following details

  • Product Number: 2K91UA#ABA

  • System Board ID: 81D4

  • Current BIOS Version: F.56 (or specify your version if different)

When I visit the HP support website and enter my product number, the BIOS update provided (for example, sp111007.exe) contains files for Board ID 81D2, not 81D4.
As a result, the BIOS recovery (Win + B) does not work and the update cannot be applied.

Could you please provide or point me to the correct BIOS update file (or recovery image) specifically compatible with System Board ID 81D4?

Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards

@Ahmed_Rishaa,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

An excellent question.

When you click on the "+" sign to the left of "HP Notebook System BIOS Update (Intel Processors)", and then to the "+" to the left of "Previous version", you can find BIOS versions F.61, F.60, F.59 and F.58: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-envy-17-u100-notebook-pc/12499198.

My thinking is that perhaps one of these newer BIOS versions would be compatible with your motherboard.

Kind Regards,

@Ahmed_Rishaa,

In that case, I would suggest you contact HP Support, unless our Senior HP Expert @Paul_Tikkanen has a path forward for you.
