Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fa0000 (599K0AV)

Product: Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC

My HP Victus laptop is facing a major physical flaw near the right hinge of the display lid. The hinge area is tearing up the plastic lid, splitting it into two sections. I have attached photos of the problem below.

This issue started just a few months after my warranty expired (25-10-2024). Every time I open or close the lid, I worry that the display is getting damaged further.

I am a student, and my entire studies, assignments, and daily work depend on this laptop. I trusted the HP brand for reliability, and I am very disheartened that this serious issue appeared so soon, despite careful and normal use.

I have done my research and found that many other Victus and Envy users have reported this exact same hinge defect. I am sharing a few reference posts here:

3. someone who is facing same issues like me :

This makes it clear that this is an inherent product issue, not normal wear and tear.

➡ I sincerely request HP to kindly support students like me, and provide a free repair or replacement of the hinge/back panel components. This is a defect I did not cause, and it is creating hardship for my studies and work.

Please let me know the next steps. I am ready to provide photos or videos if required.

🙏I hope HP will consider this request with sympathy and provide the necessary support.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Good luck on getting support, but personally I maxed out various warranties on sending it to repair places attempting to fix this. It'd work for a while, but then the same problem would come back. Something that always worked for a while for me with this was to use a small binder clip to minimize how much things could move around as I opened and closed the lid.
