Hello HP Community and Support team,

I'm reaching out as a student who relies heavily on my HP Victus laptop for daily academic work. I purchased my device at the start of my second year in college and, disappointingly, have already faced multiple hinge issues. The first hinge failure occurred and was replaced in the middle of my third year, but now, not long after the warranty expired, I am facing the same hinge problem again—plastic around the hinge splitting, lid frame bulging, and risk of display damage.

When searching the HP Community forums, I found numerous posts from Victus owners experiencing similar hinge problems right after their warranty expired, which suggests a widespread design or manufacturing flaw rather than isolated user damage.

As a student, it's incredibly difficult to bear the cost of repeated repairs (sometimes quoted upwards of ₹18,000), especially since this laptop is vital for my studies and internship work. Given that hinge repairs typically cost between ₹1,500 to ₹3,500 or more in India, this recurring issue imposes a significant financial burden for me as a student. I've taken good care of my device and always used it responsibly, but this recurring hardware issue leaves me disappointed.

I kindly request HP to recognize this pattern as a design defect and consider supporting affected students like me—possibly via goodwill repair, free replacement, or other assistance—even though the warranty has just expired. As a full-time student already facing this problem twice, I genuinely cannot afford costly repairs for a device that should be reliable. Many users have received help in similar cases when they raised concerns, and I hope my situation can be reviewed in the same spirit.

I'm including my laptop's model and photos of the hinge damage below. I am ready to share my serial number and purchase details privately with HP support for verification, if needed.

Thank you for your understanding and for considering the hardship this poses on students who depend on their devices for learning and career development.
