Hi, I have an Elitebook 840 G2 but unfortunately without WebCam. I'm wondering if it is possible to retrofit a WebCam. I can order the Module with the cam, but not sure if it's possible at all and if the necessary cable or connectors are present.
Does sombody know?

Hi, it worked fantastic. Just 10 min to install the new Web Cam Module and the hole in the bezel was simple as well. The only negative thing is that the camera is not protected. I guess the orignial bezel for this device including the camera will have something like a small round glass cover.
All drivers have been installed automatically and it starts working immediately - great 🙂

Hi,
Do you have model with touchscreen?
Anyway, yes it is possible and not too difficult, what you need to do is replace the microfonemodule with the webcam/microfone module which has part number 784457-001 and can be found quite easily online using the part number.
You can see how it is done on page 76 to remove bezel> page 79 point 9 to remove microfone module.
You will also need to open the hole in the front bezel.

Hope it helps,
