Reviving an old COMPAQ CQ40

Hello,

I am trying to revive 2 of our old COMPAQ CQ40. I have already upgraded from HDD to 120 SSD. I was not the one who installed the OS. It is working fine for offline games like Red alert and Frozen throne. Aside from that, I can use it to browse the internet. Regardless if its IE or Chrome, it doesn't work.

What do I need to do? Do I need to update drivers? Wifi is also not working so I had to use  a LAN cord.

The other CQ40 has power and I can hear the fan working, but it has no display. Just a black screen. I opened the back of the device and found out there was no HDD. I tried some YT hacks that used a hair blower and it did work, after just a week, it went black screen again.

Please help..

What is your COMPAQ CQ40 ? There were dozens of different models / products called COMPAQ CQ40 machines. On some models we can upgrade CPU too.
