Hello everyone. I was playing GTA 5 the other night and out of nowhere as I was checking the thermals I noticed the CPU was getting really hot and I wondered why so I inspected everything and found that my right fan went out and wasn't running. I tried adjusting the fan settings and nothing. Then I restarted my computer and now it works. What could have caused this? Is it software or hardware related? I have updated to the latest drivers and updated windows to latest version. I just bought it less than a month ago and am under warranty. Is it defective and should be replaced, or is it just a software bug?
Thank you.

The problem has stopped happening a while ago. I didn't know anyone responded to this until recently when I asked a new question. I had checked back and didn't see anyone. Thank you very much for reaching out. However the problem has ceased. I haven't had any strange issues like that for almost 2 weeks.

Hello, thank you again for reaching out. I had thought the situation resolved but it started happening again. It has happened 3 times so far during gaming sessions where I would need it the most. So originally the first time it happened it was the left cpu fan(I thought it was the right fan but it wasn't). These last few times it has happened to the GPU fan. No matter what I do nothing turns it back on again. The only way it turns back on again is if I restart the computer. The last time I restarted it didn't work but then I went into system diagnostics and did a thermal test for the fan(right gpu fan) and then it worked.
I don't know if it's a hardware or software issue, whether its the motherboard or just a bug.
Thank you.

System Model: OMEN by HP Laptop 17-ck1xxx |
System SKU: 61P46UA#ABA ( equals HP product number (p/n) ) |
Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-12700h, 2300Mhz, 14 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor |
BIOS Version/Date: AMI F.11, 9/9/2022 |
BaseBoard Product: 8A17 |

As for how to recreate the issue, I don't know. It happens randomly once in a while during gaming and high performance graphic processes. It's worrying enough that I hope something in the motherboard isn't going out.
