Hello, good afternoon.

I have an HP laptop with Windows 11.

My team details:

Model: 15-fd1057la
Serial: >Do not include the product serial number or any private information<
Product #: C64RXLA#ABM

What could it be that the right click of this PC is pressed forcefully? I right click on something and I have to press it hard.

How do I solve this problem? What do I do about it?

Thanks for your prompt response.

Hi @William78,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing your details for the HP Laptop 15‑fd1057la (Windows 11). We understand that the right‑click on the touchpad requires excessive force, which makes normal use difficult. This is usually caused by touchpad settings, driver behavior, or mechanical wear, rather than Windows itself.

STEP 1: Adjust touchpad click sensitivity

  1. Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Touchpad
  2. Set:
    • Touchpad sensitivityMost sensitive
  3. Under Taps, make sure:
    • “Press the lower right corner of the touchpad to right‑click” is enabled

Restart the laptop and test.

If right‑click improves → issue resolved
If still requires force → continue

STEP 2: Disable “press‑to‑click” and use two‑finger click (test)

This helps determine whether the issue is mechanical.

  1. Go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Touchpad
  2. Turn OFF
    • “Press to click”
  3. Turn ON
    • “Tap with two fingers to right‑click”

Now test:

  • If two‑finger right‑click works normally, but physical click is hard → mechanical issue likely

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
