I have the HP pavilion 15 ec1052ax with the ryzen 5 4600h. When I first got the laptop I ran a cinebench benchmark to test temps and they were fine at around 90 degree max. I ran another test the other day and was shocked to see it reach 100 degree C now with much lower score in cinebench which i guess is because the cpu is not able to run at higher clocks due to the high temps. I noticed that the cpu package power was 50w when running cinebench which seems odd as most other laptops with the same processor have a 35 watt limit. I got an OMEN command center sdk update recently which must have changed some settings though I'm not sure. Is this the reason why am getting such high temps now?

I reviewed your post and I understand that the computer is overheating when you run benchmarks on the computer.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
What is the mode you have selected in the Omen command center?
Meanwhile, I recommend you update the BIOS and the graphics driver from the below link and check whether the issue is resolved.
BIOS: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp107001-107500/sp107431.exe
AMD: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp107501-108000/sp107633.exe
Nvidia: https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp103501-104000/sp103831.exe
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

Hello, Sorry for having no response this long. Actually for pavilion series there is no control over fans or any power mode in command center. I did however recovered my BIOS. What was the problem is that the vents were blocked earlier when I was using the laptop. I had placed it on my desk so I thought there would be no issue regarding ventilation, however once I lift the laptop during stress test I could hear the fans being blocked. So I kept it on a completely level surface and now the the temps and scores are quite alright in benchmarks!
It was my dumb mistake. Sorry about that!
Thank you!
