HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0011nt

Hello


I want to upgrade my ssd. As far as I know Pavillion 15-dk0xxx has Samsung mzvlb512hbjq 512 GB  3.0  M2. I want to buy samsung 980 pro 1 TB  4.0 NVME M2 ssd. I wonder if this ssd will cause a problem on my pc? İf it will, can you recommend me another samsung ssd?

Any help would be good.

Hi:

 

Your notebook's M.2 NVMe slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0.

 

While the Samsung 980 Pro PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD will work, it will not run at its fastest advertised read/write speeds.

 

If you don't want to spend the extra money and not get the performance out of it, you may want to buy the Samsung 980 PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD if it costs a lot less than the 980 Pro.

 

If not, you may want to buy the 980 Pro anyway and transfer it in the future to a newer PC that has a PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe slot.
