Hello community!
Please help me with my question. Recently thought a laptop HP 15-db1031ur and decided to install the ssd m2. So the question is: is there an m2 slot? And what ssd is needed? 3 SATA or NVMe.

Hi,
The notebook has one M2 slot and you can use M2 SATA3 or M2 PCIe NVMe. They are both supported.
So the best choice is an M2 PCIe NVMe drive such as the Samsung970 Evo Plus or the cheaper Corsair MP510. You can get of your desired capacity (no limit).
On page 47 of the service manual, you can see the steps to install the drive

You will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD for an amazing everyday performance gain.
Hope it helps,
David

I recently purchased a Samsung 970 Pro M2 PCIe NVMe for my Laptop 15-BS080. It has a slot for an M.2 PCIe ssd but the laptop would not turn of with the ssd installed. My question is can I use the 970 Pro or only a Samsung 970 Evo Plus such as VanMora has?
