Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

There are quite many threads the discuss such SATA connector to install a second storage drive, but everyone discusses with the laptop model ID. I have not seen anyone mentioning the motherboard ID.

I tried to search the HP website but wasn't successful.

Does anyone have an idea of the part number that I can use with the 87FE motherboard?

Hi:

 

When I look at the service manual that is linked to your notebook model series' support page, HP did not offer 2.5" drives as an option.

 

HP Laptop PC 15-dy2000 Manuals | HP® Customer Support

 

Since HP did not offer 2.5" drives in the model series, they do not have any 2.5" drive parts such as mounting brackets or drive cables listed.

 

So, it would be pretty much impossible for anyone here to tell you what drive cable part number you would need for your notebook.

 

Also no HP notebook service manuals reference motherboard ID's.

 

You have to go by the notebook model series to find information/parts.
