SD Card Reader Stopped working? Need help as I need files! critical situation.

Hi

I really need my SD card reader to start working, It somewhere along the line stopped and deos not see any of the SD Cards, or Micro SD cards (in the adapter).   I ran troubleshooter   it said "Realtek PCIE CardReader has an error."  but it can not fix it.  I went to realtek and downloaded this:

But I do not know if it took or installed, as my SD card reader is still dead.  To ad insult to injury I had a stand alone card reader, but the tiny plug just broke off the circuit baord and is rattling around inside.

I really need to get this fixed, the files are critical

Perhaps the short term answer is to buy an external device?

Hi Thanks for the reply.  I got it to work, by running the trouble shooter two times, but still a no go.  I went to the Realtek site and manually downloaded a driver...even though troubleshooter said I was up to date.  I had try it two times then all was good.  It works  thanks

Hi I ran ther troubleshooter 2 times and it said all was up to date with everything, including the card reader when I checked it separately.  I went to the Realtek site and downloaded a driver.....I had to try this twice ....then all of a sudden it workred.  Thanks
