Product Name: HP Gaming Pavilion
Model:15-cx0113tx
Product ID: 4NR55PA#AB4
Current OS: Windows 10 Home 64bit ver. 20H2 Build 19042.685
Hi everyone, I just reformatted my laptop and now it no longer detects my SD card. I checked device manager and the card reader does not show up on it so I thought maybe the driver hasn't been installed. I first did a windows update which installed most of the other missing drivers but not for the card reader so I went to the HP support page.
This is the product page of my laptop: https://support.hp.com/sg-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-gaming-15-cx0000-laptop-pc/20284020/mod...
I downloaded the "Alcor Micro Card Reader Driver (Windows 10 v1709)" and tried to install it but an error pops up saying: The driver is not supported on this OS version (10.0.19042)
Any suggestions?
This is troubling because I backed up my files into the card right before the reformat, the only other device I have is a desktop PC which does not have a card reader so I'm unable to transfer my backed up files over even if I wanted to. Would appreciate any help.

Disable Write Protection on Locked SD Card with Physical Switch
Applies to: The SD card that equipped with a write-protection switch.
There is a physical write-protection switch on the side or the bottom of an SD card. The switch can secure contents and data on the SD card from being modified or infected by malware.
When you find the SD card is write-protected, you can disable the write protection on the locked SD card using its physical switch. Here are the steps:
Step 1. Disconnect your SD card from PC, and check if there is a small switch on its side.
Step 2. Check if the switch is on the unlocked side. If it's not, switch it from ON to OFF to unlock the SD card.
By changing the position of the SD card physical switch, the write protection should be turned off and allow you to access the SD card contents. After completing the process, you can reconnect the SD card to the computer and use the files they saved on the SD card.
If your SD card doesn't have a switch or the SD card is still write-protected after unlocking the card, continue trying the following fixes.
